May 12, 2020 – BOSTON, MA – Today, global market leader for commercial maritime software Veson Nautical unveiled VIP Berth Scheduling, the newest module of its innovative cloud solution, the Veson IMOS Platform.  One of VIP’s optional Industry Solutions, Berth Scheduling offers a simple, visual workspace from which to manage current port activities by cargo and plan the forward cargo lineup, allowing your dock schedulers and marine planners to more efficiently move equipment through the berth and reduce demurrage exposure.

“Effective berth scheduling and rotation requires precise balance of many intricate variables, but the vast majority of berth schedulers and marine planners are currently trying to manage these variables through manual processes,” commented Josh Luby, Product Manager at Veson Nautical. “Through conversations with some of our clients in the Tonnage Charterer segment, we realized we could provide a really effective solution to this problem – and that solution became VIP Berth Scheduling.”

VIP Berth Scheduling is designed to streamline the process of berth scheduling and rotation at a terminal, and helps users manage the cargo sequences and handling activities for all berths. By increasing visibility and automating tracking of key berth activities, Veson seeks to add efficiency into the berth scheduling process, maximizing berth allocation and reducing the probability of demurrage or sequencing issues.

“We are excited to add a new module to the Platform that addresses what we feel is a pervasive challenge in the Tonnage Charterer market segment,” commented Eric Christofferson, CPO at Veson Nautical. “As we expand our functionality in pursuit of our vision to be the standard platform that propels maritime commerce, we are proud to enhance our solution in a way that serves this community. When we strengthen our clients with the ability to more effectively manage their processes at the terminals as well as on the water, we strengthen the Veson Nautical client community as a whole.”

VIP Berth Scheduling joins 15 other modules on the Veson IMOS Platform, as an optional Industry Solution in the market-leading end-to-end system. This module is currently intended for use by chemical chartering organizations, though it also provides value to other wet Tonnage Charterers who own or operate their own berths. The module is available today.
