Eric Aboussouan
VP of Strategy, Investments & Partnerships, and Digitalization, Cargill Ocean Transportation
Eric is based in Geneva and is responsible for leading strategy for Cargill’s Ocean Transportation business, including digitalization, decarbonization, investments and partnerships. He is also part of Cargill’s Agriculture and Trading strategy team. Eric has deep expertise in trading, freight, energy and business transformation and has held leadership roles in Europe, Asia and North America. Known for his energy, humor, and engaging personality, Eric has consistently brought teams together, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. Currently, Eric leads Ocean Transportation’s strategy, driving initiatives in digitalization, decarbonization, investments, and partnerships. He is also a member of Cargill’s broader Agriculture and Trading strategy team. His leadership extends beyond the company, serving as a director on the boards of Zero North and RightShip. Over the years, Eric has played a pivotal role in Cargill’s growth, from early days in petroleum and freight to overseeing trading operations and managing Ocean Transportation’s expansion in Asia Pacific. His experience includes time at Cargill’s Minneapolis headquarters, where he worked on corporate strategy before returning to Geneva to lead market research and analytics for the Energy, Metals, and Transportation business. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Geneva.

Marie-Anne Fiorelli
Tankers Operations Manager

Marie-Anne began her career with d’Amico in 1989 as a trainee in the Container Department while completing her university studies in Marketing and Foreign Languages in Paris. In 1995, she transitioned to the Tanker Department, where she was responsible for Chartering between 1996 and 2000. She later took over the Tanker Operations Department and, for the past several years, has also been contributing to d’Amico’s Group’s Global Operations. In this role, she focuses on developing synergies between business units and coordinating departmental efforts to address industry challenges in the most efficient manner.

Tomoko Hashimoto

My name is Tomoko Hashimoto, and I am an expert with over 25 years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of core systems for chartering, operations management, and accounting at Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, a leading comprehensive shipping company. Throughout my career, I have significantly contributed to the efficient construction and implementation of our company’s core business systems. Currently serving as a General Manager, I lead projects as a project manager, consistently guiding teams to success. Under my leadership, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines began utilizing the SaaS system, VESON IMOS Platform, in 2022. I am spearheading strategic initiatives to expand the use of IT technology to enhance user operational efficiency and promote future growth. My extensive experience and leadership are pivotal in supporting digital transformation in the shipping industry, and I remain committed to shaping the future of maritime operations through innovative solutions.

Tomohiko Inamura
Manager, BA Solution Department

Tomohiko Inamura joined NYK Line in 2009, beginning his career in the bulk business with roles in agency accounting and vessel operations for Cape Size and Panamax vessels. He later transitioned to the container business at Ocean Network Express, handling sales in Osaka and container logistics and maritime insurance in Singapore. In 2022, Inamura san returned to the bulk sector, leading sales and vessel operations for overseas clients. Since 2024, he has served as Manager in NYK Business Systems’ BA Solution Department, overseeing IMOS operations. His work focuses on business process management (BPM), re-engineering (BPR), and digital transformation (DX) within the IMOS platform. With broad experience across bulk and container shipping, Inamura san brings a strong operational and systems perspective to driving innovation in maritime logistics.

At Hafnia, he’s driving the adoption of cloud-native architecture and AI-driven decision support, while also overseeing strategic IT governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, including SOX and NIS2. He brings a pragmatic, people-centered approach to ensuring that digital solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals. Veson Speakers

Alex Adamou
VP, Data Science & Analytics
Dr Alex Adamou is the Vice President of Data Science and Analytics at Veson Nautical. He oversees collection and validation of vessel and market data, analysis of vessel movements and trade flows, and general scientific research to create decisional intelligence for Veson Nautical’s growing product portfolio. Alex joined VesselsValue in 2010, when he led the development of its first asset valuation model. From 2012 to 2021, he was also Fellow and Director of the London Mathematical Laboratory, where he researched novel economic theories using techniques from statistical physics. He joined Veson Nautical in May 2023, when it acquired VesselsValue. Alex is an experienced mathematician with 15 years in academia, holding first class MA and MMath degrees in mathematics from Cambridge University and a PhD in applied mathematics from Imperial College London. With doctoral research in fluid dynamics and postdoctoral research in economics and statistics, he is well placed to understand both technological and financial aspects of the shipping industry.

He is passionate about team leadership, driving time to value recognition on projects, and cultivating long term client relationships with clients primarily in the Americas and EMEA regions. Jim spent two exciting years in our London office, holds an MBA from Warwick Business School in London.

Matthews team are responsible for the handling of client queries as well as the production of bespoke and automated reports. Matthew is a founding VesselsValue employee and prior to the acquisition of VessleValue by Veson Nautical in 2022, was the Chief Commercial Officer. He is a co-director of Seasure Shipbroking and has been an active shipbroker since 2007, bringing deep expertise in maritime asset valuation.

Caroline Piekarski is a passionate leader in product management who leverages deep customer insights to drive product development and deliver exceptional user experiences. She has over a decade of experience in product leadership focusing on transforming large datasets into valuable solutions for a wide range of customers based on their pain points and challenges. She joined Veson in January 2025 as a senior member of the Data Intelligence group and leads the company-wide initiative around unlocking new insights from data across Veson’s entities based on customer needs. Prior to joining Veson, Caroline served as a key supply chain leader at a global provider of data and analytics solutions in the energy sector. She led data and product teams across the globe and specialized in creating new market insights from many disparate sources including spend transactions, emissions calculations, risk metrics, and company data. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Boston University.
