Boston, MA, USA – January 11, 2022 – For the third year in a row, Veson Nautical, the leading provider of commercial maritime software and services, has completed the System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II attestation for its Veson IMOS Platform cloud solution. The 2021 report included zero exceptions to the controls covered in the audit – a demonstration of stringent cloud security practices.

Veson’s SOC 2 Type II Report – compiled by RSM, a leading global security and compliance firm – is issued for the “Security” Trust Services Criteria. New in the 2021 Report, Veson has added the “Availability” Trust Services Criteria as well. This demonstrates that Veson Nautical’s information and systems are protected against potential attack vectors and unauthorized access, both physical and logical, to satisfy business objectives.  In addition, services are designed with a focus on availability, actively monitored to maintain uptime and proportionally scaled to meet demand. Furthermore, the Type II report verifies that these controls operate effectively throughout the course of the year, confirming that Veson maintains a consistently reliable security posture at all times.

This third-party security report validates that Veson’s internal processes are explicitly mapped to corresponding SOC 2 controls established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Since adopting the SOC 2 framework, Veson has been issued a clean report every year, attesting that the controls were suitably designed throughout the period to provide reasonable assurance that Veson’s service commitments and system requirements were achieved.

The audit showed no control exceptions, validating that every cloud security practice at Veson Nautical is in line with the standards set by the AICPA. With a clear commitment to constant improvement and maintaining the highest standards, Veson continues to place client security first.

“This clean report with zero control exceptions highlights our dedication to a robust cybersecurity posture,” commented Leonard Bond, Manager of Information Technology at Veson. “The addition of the Availability Trust Services Criteria to our report further underscores our ability and drive to focus on what matters most to our clients.”

Veson Nautical will continue to undergo security audits on an annual basis to maintain its successful attestation. Clients interested in accessing details of the report should contact their Veson Nautical Account Manager.
