With only a couple of weeks left to run in 2025, who could have predicted the year of technological change we just witnessed? Rumors and concerns of the “AI bubble” bursting have not come to pass, and at the same time we have started to see specific job functions changing as companies race to gain AI-driven competitive advantage.
There is much debate over whether AI will impose cyclical or structural changes in the global economy; I tend to believe it will be the latter, and we are just getting started. When the world wide web gained traction in the early 90s, few could have predicted what the Internet would become by the end of 2025. Similarly, it’s hard to imagine where generative AI will take us over the next ten to fifteen years.
At Veson, we are leaning in hard on adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI) in many areas of our business. We see an opportunity to design, build and ship software more efficiently than ever before. We see the clear advantages of leveraging AI in our support and services teams, so that we can provide precise, relevant, and timely advice to our clients.
Forward-thinking companies are also leveraging generative AI for cyber defense, because threat actors can and are doing exactly the same thing on the offensive side.
I was in London recently, and had the opportunity to meet with our Cyber security team for a broad-ranging discussion. One of our engineers casually mentioned that he was nearing completion on a project which will permanently introduce agentic AI into our layers of network defense. Using AWS Bedrock AgentCore, he and the team created an autonomous agent which monitors our system logs 24x7x365, searching for suspicious patterns. The agent can then decide whether to lock an account, update a firewall rule, or alert the security team. Building something this sophisticated a few years ago would have been immensely challenging. Today, we explore the art of the possible.
At the moment we have a “human in the loop” to approve the agent’s decisions. It isn’t hard to imagine a future state where we allow this system to act with even greater autonomy – to respond to threats at machine speed.
Veson has a strong culture of innovation, and we care deeply about protecting our clients’ data, critical systems and ability to run their businesses. We invest heavily in cyber security, and encourage our engineers to explore cutting-edge ideas like agentic cyber defense.
It has been a remarkable year for Veson and for our clients, as we navigated immense technological change together. We are looking forward to 2026, a year that promises to unveil the next chapter of the Artificial Intelligence revolution.
