Lauritzen Bulkers is a front-runner in maritime digitalization and, through the decades of operating its fleet of handysize and supramax dry bulk carriers, has embraced new technologies to optimize business processes and manage risk and volatility. Veson has been part of this journey with Lauritzen, first implementing Veson’s on-premise IMOS system in 2010 and later making the decision to migrate to the cloud-based Veson IMOS Platform (VIP) in 2021.
The continued focus on digitization led Lauritzen to evaluate and become an early supporter of Oceanbolt by adopting Oceanbolt’s data platform in 2020.
William Eduard, Global Head of Research at Lauritzen Bulkers, comments on the choice to support Oceanbolt in an early stage: “We were immediately impressed by the vision of the Oceanbolt platform and the team’s focus on API-first development. We had a requirement to build a machine learning-based market model and, after thorough evaluation of the market solutions, Oceanbolt stood out as an emerging leader in the dry bulk space so we decided to go with them.”
